Cox Communications added one million RGUs in 2007, the seventh consecutive year it has broken the 1 million RGU addition mark, the company said today.
Cox said 62% of its subscribers are in two-product bundles and more than 30% are in the triple play.
The MSO now counts:
5.96 million total residential customer relationships; 1.6% YOY growth
3.7 million bundled customers; 9.0% YOY growth
2.38 million telephone subscribers; 17.7% YOY growth
3.7 million high-speed Internet subscribers; 11.3% YOY growth
3.1 million digital cable subscribers; 10.8% YOY growth
557,000 "non-video" residential customers; 24.5% YOY growth
"The marketplace has never been more competitive, with customers demanding more from us as their needs become more complex," said Cox Communications President Pat Esser.
The MSO also said churn is now at record lows for digital cable, HSI and digital telephone.
Cox added 357,000 new phone subscribers in 2007.
It also said Cox Business increased phone customers by nearly 30% and total customer relationships by more than 16%.
"Despite fierce competition from phone and satellite companies, we saw less than 0.4% reduction in basic video subscriptions, and digital penetration continues to grow (now 58% of basic) as customers are increasingly upgrading to enjoy high definition, On DEMAND and DVR services," said Esser.
